This is gorgeous, snuggly Tank, he's a big, happy dude who will wiggle his tail if he's allowed to go up to a new person and meet them. His bark is just an alert, but he went straight up for tummy rubs at the last DoorDash driver who wanted to say hi and was so friendly. We are in a neighborhood with elderly neighbors next door that can't afford to take a tumble if he gets out and knocks someone over accidentally. He would do great in a home with no small animals. We have a 3 and 5 year old that have been safe around him but he needs a home that has more time to finish training him and who can walk him more regularly.

Jojo is a beautiful head turner who needs a family to give her the love & attention she deserves. She is approximately 6 years old & spayed. She has been to Watson Vet in Lake County for her shots etc. She does have an issue with her hips which makes her tire out a little quicker than maybe some others her age. She came to our home via a caretaker who left the country without her. She is very good with people and children. I am not sure how she would be with cats but did originally live here with us with her brother. When she wasn’t near people her & her brother would start to roam. He has been rehomed so now she doesn’t roam as far but she still sometimes heads off on a small adventure if she is able. I would be happy to tell you more about her if you’re interested. We have a beautiful, sweet, affectionate, and loving Belgian Malinois/Husky mix (as best we can tell) who is looking for the right new home. Shanti is about 2 years old and is incredibly gentle and sweet-natured.
Shanti is very loyal and protective of her person around strangers without being aggressive. She will alert when someone unfamiliar approaches and may stand guard with a gentle woof, but once introduced, she gets along wonderfully with people, children, and other dogs.
She is incredibly intelligent, athletic, and agile. She loves playing, chasing, and wrestling with other dogs, although she hasn't quite figured out what she's supposed to do with dog toys yet! She is very eager to learn and would thrive with someone interested in training her and giving her opportunities to use both her brain and her athletic ability.
We love her very much and are genuinely sad to have to rehome her, so finding the right home is much more important to us than simply finding her a home.
So what's the catch? Why are we rehoming such a great dog?
There are two issues we haven't been able to resolve that unfortunately no longer work with our living situation.
First, she loves to roam. We have several acres but no fully fenced area, and Shanti loves going off on adventures. She always comes home and generally returns within about 30 minutes when we call her. That alone wasn't a deal-breaker for us, but we recently added a small puppy to our pack, and unfortunately Shanti has started taking him along on her adventures and teaching him her wandering ways. Because he's small and still a puppy, we're simply not comfortable with the risk.
Second, Shanti has a strong prey drive and is a hunter. We're perfectly happy when she's catching voles, rats, and other pests—not so happy when it's our chickens. We've had her for about a year and, despite our efforts, haven't been able to reliably break her of either the roaming or chicken hunting.
Because of that, her ideal home would have a large, securely fenced yard or property where she can safely run and explore. A home without free-ranging chickens or other small livestock would probably be best.
Ideally, she'd also have another young, playful dog who loves to run, chase, and wrestle. She absolutely loves having a canine companion.
Shanti is incredibly smart and seems genuinely thirsty to work and learn. Someone with dog-training experience—or simply someone excited about working with an intelligent, athletic dog—could have an amazing time helping her reach her potential. We've all seen what Belgian Malinois are capable of, and she definitely has some of that athleticism and intelligence. She seems like a natural candidate for agility training or other activities that challenge her mentally and physically.
That said, there isn't a mean bone in her body. We're not looking for someone who wants to turn her into some kind of fierce attack dog. She's a loving, affectionate companion who happens to be extraordinarily smart and athletic.
We would especially love to find someone relatively close so that, if everyone was comfortable with it, we might occasionally be able to have doggie playdates. That's certainly not a requirement, though. What matters most is finding Shanti a safe, loving home where she can thrive.
She is going to be deeply missed by both her people and her two dog brothers.

She's mostly house broken, does very well with regular outings. Could use some more work with walking on a leash, and a little more socialization, she likes to jump when excited. Hello good morning my name is Nancy Trueblood for the last four months. I’ve tried to find homes for my two Akita pups. They will be two years old December 21. I have given all their shots to them. I recently moved from 86 acres from Westport to Willits, because of job transfer where I was hoping I could move with them, however where I move to I was unable to move with my dogs. I’ve currently kept them in a kennel for the last three months, which is not humane thing to do. I feed them on a regular basis I clean their kennel weekly. I work two jobs and I currently take care of five grandchildren. I’m in such desperate need to find a good home to them.
