At the Humane Society for Inland Mendocino County (HSIMC), we believe that pets are family. Our Pet Food Pantry (PFP) was created to ensure that financial hardship never has to break up that bond.
Thanks to a generous donation from Sparetime Supply in Willits, we now have a dedicated shipping container that will be refurbished into a permanent storage and distribution hub for the pantry. This new infrastructure will allow us to expand our reach and increase our capacity to serve pet owners in need throughout our community.
• Prevent pet relinquishment due to temporary financial hardship.
• Support low-income households with food and basic pet supplies.
• Build a safety net that keeps pets in loving homes and out of shelters.
• Strengthen community partnerships by collaborating with like-minded organizations.
• Community members can request food and basic supplies such as litter, leashes, collars, and other items as available.
• Supplies are available for pickup during HSIMC’s open hours: Wed – Fri: 1pm-5pm & Sat – Sun: 11am-3pm
• Donations are accepted year-round and redistributed to ensure a consistent supply for families in need.
The Pet Food Pantry is funded entirely by donations from individuals, businesses, and rescue partners.
We’re honored to partner with Sonoma Humane Society, who contributes 2-4 deliveries of pet food and supplies to HSIMC each year, significantly boosting our inventory during those times.
The pantry is operated by HSIMC staff and volunteers, and every dollar received goes directly toward purchasing, storing, and distributing food and supplies.
Every bag of pet food is more than just a meal — it’s peace of mind for someone who loves their animal but is struggling to make ends meet. It’s one less pet entering a shelter. It’s a reminder that their community cares.
With your support, we can ensure that no one has to choose between feeding themselves or feeding their pet.
