Current Business Partners

Humane Society for Inland Mendocino County has been operating in Redwood Valley and supporting our community since the 1980s.  Our mission is to nurture, educate and engage our community in the care of cats and dogs in need, giving as many animals as possible a chance to thrive in loving homes. 

As a non-profit 501c3 organization, we receive no financial support from any government entities, and we run completely on donations from the community.

Our Business Partners are the backbone of our existence.  As you know, shelters are in crisis with many people losing their housing and unable to move with their pets. As of December 31, we have taken in 1,199 dogs and cats, and we are continuing to feel the pressure to meet the needs of our community. We rely on annual partnerships to ensure that we can help as many animals as possible.

In addition to looking for community support, HSIMC is committed to giving back.  

- We’ve had sports teams, scout teams and classrooms learn how to read doggie “body language”, learn what it means to be an animal living in a shelter and learn how they can help make a difference.  

- We encourage our youth groups to come to the shelter and learn about appropriate animal interaction, tools that will help when meeting a new animal in the home or in public.

 - We have an onsite volunteer trainer who works with our dogs before and after adoption to ensure our dogs are successful as they look for and find their forever family. 

- We are striving to educate our community, to build the next team of rescuers.

Our job is to ensure that the homeless pet population in central Mendocino County is spayed or neutered, vaccinated, microchipped and ready for a forever home, with your help we can continue our mission to save as many lives as possible.
