Mille need a home where she will be the only dog. Unfortunately she doesn’t get along with other dogs but is very protective of her owner once she gets to know them! She is a very skittish dog so you need to be patient with her for the first few day. She is crate trained, house trained and also knows many tricks.

This handsome boy is about 18-24 months old he's a sweet gentle soul. Great with other dogs. Very shy and timid around people and takes several months to acclimate to his new home. His breed is Malinois, Belgian/mixed, he's been neutered, fully vaccinated, licensed and is microchiped. He is with a foster family, attached and safe but really needs a farm where he has more room and can have a job rounding up other farm animals. He responds well to gentle voices and doesn't like yelling or other aggressive behavior. He responds to very few verbal commands, but knows back, come, and shake and very treat motivated. He also Ioves to hold hands/paws. He was my son's dog but wasn't happy in a small apt. And didn't like walks around the neighborhood. He doesn't like a lot of people or traffic so we offered to foster him till we could find a good home for him. He will choose one or two people who make him feel safe to be his people and with visitors he will typically disappear once he checks them out, until they leave. He likes his crate, he prefers to be outside but we coaxed him inside during the cold months and adjusted to his crate as well as sharing a bed with his friend but once it got warmer he prefers to be outside. He still comes in to say hi and hild hands for a few minutes. He would be happy with a warm dry outdoor kennel. He's happy and safe and loved but gets bored and chews up plastic, wood and rubber and tears the stuffing and squeakers out of all the toys, pillows, beds etc. I don't have enough room for him and don't have the energy or space to add any more animals to give him enough work to prevent him from getting bored. He would be a wonderful addition to any farm with cows, horses, chickens and other pets. I hope to find him a good farm/ranch where he will have a lot of jobs to do and be loved as much as we love him.

Darby is a 1-1/2 year old neutered male. He weighs about 60 pounds. Darby is up-to-date on his vaccines, microchipped, and has tested negative for heartworm. Darby has been in the same foster home for the Ukiah Animal Shelter for the past 7 months. His lives with small senior dogs and senior cats in his foster home. Darby enjoys a cuddle on the couch and in bed. He sleeps in a crate next to his foster mom's bed at night and is crated when she leaves the house during the day. Darby has not been a vocal dog, except for when he is engaging in play. He travels well in a car and does not get carsick. With time and patience, Darby has made a lot of progress in his foster home and his foster mom has a lot of information she can share. Darby needs a home with another canine who is an appropriate playmate and a yard with a fence of appropriate height. The email below connects you to his foster mom who has lots of info to share about this beautiful boy!

Light brown German Shepherd approximately one year old. Fully vetted, spayed and chipped. Wonderful temperament. House broken. Not destructive. Silly and playful. Fetches. Loves small children. Good with dogs. Not cat tested. Good on leash and loves walks. Needs a lot of brushing, but loves it. Kelly was dumped at the Kelseyville SPCA a couple of months ago. Trapped by street dawgs. Currently fostered by myself. I have fallen in love with her, but I can’t help others if I keep her. She is the best behaved dog we have saved. She deserves the best future she can get and a fireplace of her own

We adopted Sam from HSIMC about 2 years ago and while he is the sweetest boy, he does not like our dogs. He will play "the floor is lava" to avoid them, and unfortunately doesn't want to venture out to where the litter box is because of them. We've set food and water up high for him but he does not seem happy. He LOVES to cuddle and wants to be under the blankets with you at night. His favorite spot is in a cat tree near a window so he can watch the birds while he sunbathes. We have not let him outside but he would likely be okay as an indoor/outdoor cat. He's gotten along perfectly with our other cats! We love him so much but feel that he is too stressed with his current circumstances and want the best for him.

Nick needs a safe landing while he finishes his heartworm treatment -- 2 more months, 2 shots total; pill regimen is complete. Currently being fostered in a home with three other dogs, chickens and a cat, he is a sweet & happy boy. He loves being with his people or is ok chilling on his own. He like car rides, walks (slow and steady due to the heartworm), and stuffy toys. He likes chasing balls a lot! But this is a future activity while he is on rest for healing. This handsome fellow has one simple request - he would like a foster home (& future adopter) without a resident alpha cause he does not want to be bossed around.
Nick is approximately 5 yrs old and 50 lbs. Just the right size for all you 'not small, not large' dog lovers.

We are looking to re-home our rescued Gamper. We adopted him in 9/23 from a Livestock Guardian Dog rescue to help our Pyrenees with protecting our guinea and pea fowl. Turns out, he’s not suited to be a LGD. He’s a sweet boy who wants to be a pet, but he has a strong prey drive and has killed several of our birds. We cannot keep him for obvious reasons, but want to find a good caring home where ideally he can be a pet and not expected to be a guardian. He is extremely friendly with people and other dogs, but he will chase cats. He is neutered, up to date on all vaccines, flea/tick control and heartworm prevention. Located in Mendocino County, CA

Frankie is a very sweet 14 month old newly neutered rescue. Beautiful blues eyes and appears to be Shepherd, husky mix. He has had rabies shot. Tested negative for Heartworm and Lyme. He is pretty much full grown at 60lb Gets along great with out 4 year old female an 3 year old male dogs. Rides great in cars. There is so much good about Frankie I could go on and on. We would keep him in a heartbeat, but 2 dogs and 4 cats already has us and our budget stretched thin. Frankie needs a Stable Home where he can get lots of love. He hasn’t been abused. But has not had a stable environment until he came to us. He would be happy with a large fenced yard, another dog to romp with and a lap to cuddle on at the end of the day. He runs the 40 acres with our dogs and comes immediately when called. Knows sit, getting better with stay and getting good on leash. Good with short term crating. He has not seemed interested in our cats when he has encountered them. If you have a 12 year old child wanting a puppy, Frankie is going to be a lifelong companion to whoever opens their heart to him. We are in Willits area. Can bring Frankie to meet you. Feel free to call or email me.

Phoenix was abandoned at a condemned home along with his female partner. A neighbor confirmed they were there approximately 4 months and proceeded to have a litter of 8 puppies. Phoenix and his family were lucky to have been found by a passerby and all the dog family besides Phoenix have found a home. Phoenix has been completely vetted. The vet estimates he is 4 years old. He has since been neutered, vaccinated (including rabies), flea treated, microchipped, and put on heart worm preventative. That being said, Phoenix did test positive for heart worm, but he has a good prognosis and very minimal care required to complete his heart worm treatment. Finder is willing to cover preventative for the next 4 months, as well as follow up heart worm recheck. Phoenix deserves the best. He is an absolutely sweet sweet boy who loves everybody. He's great with people, other dogs, cats (he might chase but he listens to no chase), he's wonderful to walk on a leash, comes when called. Without a doubt, his adopter won't have any regrets. He's the perfect derpy dog and will be forever grateful for a home to call his own.

Dodge is a stray that has been in a foster home for several months. We believe he is approximately 2 year old. Vet guesses Mastiff/Shepherd mix. Dodge has been checked by a vet, up to date on vaccines, neutered and is chipped, ready for registration with his forever human. Dodge is crate trained, sleeping with his favorite stuffy, and has been fine with the cats and other dogs. He’s great in the car and loves outings. Dodge knows basic commands (and high-five) and is eager to please, getting excited when praised for learning something new. He is a very good and sweet boy and loves to snuggle on the couch with his humans.

Pepper is a 1.5 year old small mix breed girl. She loves a good cuddle, but also has lots of energy and will chase a ball as long as you are willing to throw it. She is also deaf, and I'm hoping to find someone that has the time and tools to spend the time to teach her hand signals, and also give her all the love she needs and deserves. She has anxiety about humans, but really enjoys other dogs that are friendly. She has been great with my 2.5 year old granddaughter. I'm hoping to find someone willing to take the time to meet and get to know her and develop a bond with her before taking her home. I'm hoping to find the perfect home for her here. She really will thrive with a fenced space so she can run. My situation has changed, and she almost always has to be on a fairly short lead when she's outside, unless I take her to the dog park.

Ella is not fixed and does well with dogs and cats, but would love to be a solo dog as she wants all attention for herself!

This beautiful girl is Sativa. Sativa is a 2 year old large mix breed girl looking for her forever home. Sativa loves to be close to you, being your little shadow who slips in kisses here and there. Sativa listens well, learns quickly and is very food motivated. She knows basic commands such as shake, sit, and to sit for food. Sativa is not much of a barker only barking to alert or when excited. She currently lives with kids & another dog. Which she does great with. Also has done great with the other dogs she has been introduced to. I am not sure about cats as we do not have one. She is current on vaccines but not spayed yet, I have called around and waiting on an appointment. It is hard to let her go, unfortunately life circumstances have came in to play and I'm unable to keep her. Looking for a family who has the time to help her reach her full potential. Sadly, we are unable to.

This puppy has no name yet, you can change that! This young girl is about 12 or so weeks old. She has had a rough start but she was rescued by someone else and I took her in, to foster so that those people could make it back to their home land out of country. She is a sweetie. Full of energy. She needs an active owner who loves to run often. Possibly have a fence area for her to roam. She would be an excellent running partner. Unfortunately due to our circumstances we are unable to keep her. She needs someone who has the time and love for her. She’s about 16lbs and growing. I believe she’s a husky mix. We got Maya as a rescue from Guatemala (through SF, SPCA) when she was between 6-7 months old. We don’t know her exact breed, but she was described to us to be a mutt (part domestic breed, part wild). She’s currently 8 years young. Maya is goofy and playful like no other, loves a good long cuddle, is intelligent beyond words, and is deeply emotionally attuned to those she connects with. Quite honestly, she is the sweetest, biggest hearted little creature we’ve ever met. Why we are looking to rehome Maya (in order of importance): Over the last few years it has become increasingly clear that she and our other dog, Osa, don’t get along. They are actively competing for alpha status in ways that are actively putting them both at risk of serious injury. With a wiley toddler and a baby in our home, the unpredictability of her relationship with Osa, in addition to the ways in which she is annoyed by our toddler's attempts to engage and play with her, have made us both nervous when she’s around the littles. Over the past 8 years there have been a handful of incidents when she has nipped people who she is unfamiliar with and/or who have entered our home/backyard. We have worked on this with dog trainers over the years but now with two kids, we sadly don’t have the ability to give her, and her continued training, the time she deserves.

Happy dog was found starving and pregnant on the side of the highway, She was not claimed by an owner. She has had her puppies and is looking for her forever home. She is currently not fixed but we are willing to help with that. She is an older dog that has had litters before this and looks to be maybe 5 or 6 years but it’s hard to tell. She is so loving and just wants to sit by your chair and watch TV., she adores women, children and calm men. We call her Happy Dog because since we put that scared starving dog in the car she has been nothing but “Happy”. Happy has an old rear leg injury that does not limit her at all. She just sits funny and gets tired if she runs too much. She needs a patient home with a secure yard with No cats and No livestock. She is learning to walk on a leash nicely and has been non aggressive to other dogs. She is a great watch dog, and does not bark excessively. She loves children and has been very good around our two boys. Happy can’t stay here because we have cats and livestock, she needs a chance at a loving quiet home!
