Please consider giving some of your time to help the animals at HSIMC and improve their lives. The animals in our care depend on volunteers for socialization and training, time spent with them improves their lives while they wait for their forever home.
We Need Your Help! Foster homes save lives! You are one of the most valuable assets a shelter can have. we are always in desperate need of foster homes. You can help us save lives by opening your loving home and hearts to an animal in a shelter.
We offer a dog walking orientation for all volunteers on Sundays at 12 pm, weather permitting.
One of our longtime volunteers will give you a tour and show you how we interact with the dogs.

HSIMC depends largely on a dedicated group of volunteers to keep the shelter up and running. Volunteers help with essential daily activities and chores and our long time volunteers help conduct our dog walking orientation classes! We have a few dedicated staff onsite daily to work with the animals in our care and manage the shelter. Everything else: fundraising, outreach, maintenance and grounds keeping, is all completed by our kindhearted volunteers. Consider volunteering today and help us continue to save lives!
Cats love the attention and interaction they receive from our wonderful volunteers, many enjoy grooming and brushing.
Kittens and cats need socialization and extra snuggles to help them transition from shelter living to a home.
Every adoptable dog benefits immensely from our training program., it is where we establish good behavior and manners so the dogs are ready for their forever homes.
Daily public interaction also keeps the dogs socialized, happy and healthy.
Fostering means you get to help animals in need, all in the comfort of your own home. You don't have to have fostering experience, we give you information, guidance and support! The length of time is up to you. Whether you can care for bottle babies, kittens, one dog or many, we would love to have you as a foster!
