If you are an animal lover and want to get more involved in our rescue efforts, this is the perfect opportunity. Voting by the HSIMC members for confirmation to the board occurs in May, so this is the perfect time to get your application in.

Teresa King has been a Redwood Valley resident for a little over five years, moving from the bay area with her husband, John to be closer to their grandchildren. She brings 20 years of experience in corporate event management and many years prior to that in the tech industry. In her year at HSIMC has been working towards finding new and fun adoption fundraisers to bring recognition to the shelter.
As board secretary, she tries to bring transparency to HSIMC activities to gain the most support from our community. You can usually find her volunteering at the shelter on Thursdays and Saturdays, greeting potential adopters and fosters! And off hours with their granddaughters and their HSIMC rescue, Lacey!

I want to be a part of making a difference at HSMIC. Before volunteering at HSIMC, I did not have much knowledge or experience with humane society organizations, but attending the open orientation was so informative and kept me eager to learn how I can contribute more to the animals that did not have a chance. I’m excited to have the opportunity to represent the humane society through events such as disc golf and numerous fundraisers. My involvement in the disc golf community is a good way for me to approach those who are interested and that want to learn more about what it means to foster, adopt, or even volunteer! I am excited to be a part of the online store, I have extensive knowledge in inventory control, shipping, and logistics, and to be able to share this knowledge to further support HSIMC is amazing! My goals are to help with the future successes of HSIMC, whether it is kennel clean ups, training days, spending the day walking or engaging with the pups or even learning about play groups. (I can also gladly contribute to any future projects). I hope to be a voice for the animals with an opportunity to encourage others from our communities to be a part of the difference.

Holly, a resident of Willits, came to Mendocino County five years ago when she and her wife Chana Eisenstein purchased East Hill Veterinary Clinic. The daughter of a Marine she was born at Camp Pendleton, CA. She and her two younger brothers grew up exploring the world wherever the military took them. She attended Georgetown University on an ROTC scholarship. She was then
commissioned into the U.S. Navy Nurse Corps serving five years stationed in San Diego and Okinawa, Japan. After leaving the Navy she moved to San Francisco
working at California Pacific Medical Center for ten years. She is now employed at Howard Hospital’s Emergency Department. She is also an integral part of the East Hill clinic. “Moving to Willits has allowed me to become part of the community” she wrote. “I enjoy working on projects and am honored to be asked to join the HSIMC board of Directors. I believe that the biggest challenge facing the humane society is that of almost all shelters, funding. I am more than willing to help in all fundraising events and consider that a priority. I have a passion for animals and believe my experiences can bring a worthwhile dimension to the board.”
I’m a retired construction worker and have lived in Mendocino County for over 40 years. My mission is to use my experience to improve the comfort and safety of both staff and animals at HSIMC. I have made meaningful contributions to improving the facilities, including working with subcontractors, volunteers and staff on various projects.

I have served on the board for many years now. I was drawn to serve since I believe strongly in the cause of helping save the lives of our dogs and cats in Mendocino County. I am so impressed with how our community comes together to serve these animals in need. Due to my financial background, I have mostly served in the role as treasurer over the time I have been on the board.

Foster family for HSIMC since 2019, has fostered over 100 animals for HSIMC. Community Service is very important to Kether. She has been a registered Girl Scout and community
volunteer for over 25 years. With a background in real estate and business development, as well as animal medicine, Kether has strived to make the Humane Society for Inland Mendocino County more financially stable, in addition to championing on behalf of the vulnerable animals in need. Kether is an advocate of the "no kill" mission, that means meeting or exceeding a standard of a live outcome of 90% or better for the animals in the shelter. She wholeheartedly believes in the power of serving people and the tremendous impact of goodwill each of us can have on our community.

Raised by a family of Kiwanians, charity and animals have always been a part of her blood serving on everything from elementary school boards to being a part of the Student Leadership program at Ukiah High School. Elizabeth hopes to someday adopt many many animals from HSIMC. Until then she was sold by HSIMC’s logo… “If you can’t adopt a pet, adopt a shelter!” and hopes to help support HSIMC by bringing more fun fundraising events to the shelter and community. Elizabeth works full time as an Insurance Agent for George Petersen Insurance Agency in Ukiah. In her free time, she enjoys working out and hanging out with the dogs and cats of HSIMC.

Wynona was born and raised in Ukiah, and graduated from Sonoma State in 2017. She recently received her M.A.Ed and started teaching high school students. She has a passion for bringing an environment of safety to homeless animals and preparing them for their furever homes. Wynona began volunteering in 2021 and instantly fell in love with HSIMC’s mission to save lives. She says, “There’s nothing better than seeing the transformation of a dog with love, and seeing them finally get to go home.” She loves helping in any way she can onsite, and if you see her, she’s usually with a dog—walking, training, or snuggling. As a young millennial, she also helps with social media and is willing to expand her skills at HSIMC.
HSIMC is an organization near and dear to my heart. I am dedicated to supporting the shelter as much as I can and am determined to help us reach all of the goals we set our sights on.
I want to join the HSIMC board to give back to an organization that does so much for our communities and for my family. I want to be more involved with HSIMC and feel this would be an incredible way to do so. It would be an honor to serve on the board.
HSIMC Board of Director meetings are held on the third Wednesday of the month at 6PM.
Meetings are held at the Redwood Valley Grange, located at 8650 East Rd, Redwood Valley, CA 95470
The public is welcome to join us in person.
